I've been meaning to try this restaurant for so long so I'm glad we went. They specialize in Uyghur cuisine which Boston doesn't have a lot of. The service was honestly really fast, food came out quickly. Ambiance is cute too and it's located in Central Square, near the Hmart. We got lamb skewers, cucumbers, chicken stew, and jahunger noodles. The lamb skewers were solid but honestly a bit gamey and overpriced.. $14 for 3 skewers is crazy. Cucumbers were fantastic. Usually whenever I order cucumber dish it tastes the same but this had extra flavor. They seasoned the cucumbers so well and sauce was packed and spicy. Chicken stew was my favorite entree. The stew was huge first of all. Lots of broth which I liked. It had hand-pulled flat noodles and they were super chewy and great texture. The chicken was soft but had lots of small bones so you have to be careful. Lastly we got the Jahunger noodles because it seemed like their signature. These hand-pulled noodles are unique because they're really short and al dente. It was a bit more al dente than I'm used to with Asian noodles but I liked it. However the beef and the actual flavor of the noodles wasn't anything special. Overall I would go again because they have a lot on their menu I'd like to try. Also their menu is super aesthetically pleasing but impossible to navigate because it's so stiff LOL

Jahunger, Cambridge MA Second location of the Providence original, offering Uyghur cuisine typically found in the northwestern-most province of China. They call their culture "a unique blend of Central Asian influences." A bit of Middle Eastern too, but the more the merrier. If noodles are your thing, it's a must. Samsa: A pair of savory pastry dough vessels filled with fragrant ground lamb. Think of these as Asian knishes; I think of them as that and delicious. A little crunch to the shell, but also nicely chewy. I haven't had these anywhere else, so I can't compare, but I'd be surprised if these weren't elite. Scallion Pancake: A bit out of place on this menu but more than just a token offering for the timid. It checks all the boxes: thicker than average, crispy but not oily, thick but light, plenty scallions, and thick, dark dipping sauce. Near-elite to elite. Jahunger Noodles: I've had these several times in Providence and Cambridge, and they're the perfect first visit item to get a feel for the place. Hand-pulled, fresh, thick, dense, round noodles, with a protein you can customize. Not exceedingly spicy, but REALLY nice zesty flavor. Nice chewy texture to the noodles, which had a tagliatelle-meets-udon feel. Long strips of chive added some crunch and herbal punch. Laghman Noodles: More of those hand-pulled, fresh, thick, dense, round noodles that are a bit slippery, so maybe rethink that white cashmere sweater if eating these, cuz there gon' be some sauce a splashin'. Complemented with shredded beef in a slightly spicy sauce, a little on the thin side, so not as much cling as with their namesake Jahunger Noodles. Spicy Potatoes: Spiced very thin, served around room temperature, with a jicama-like texture and a sauce spicy as promised. A hint of sour, but less sour than the Sichuan version of potatoes like this. Very good. They've got a tiny parking lot shared with their neighboring businesses. Handy but very tight, so get there early and back your car in.

My family and I loved our experience at Jahunger! Unique cuisine, cozy atmosphere, friendly service. We ordered the scallion pancakes to start. Delightfully crispy. For the main course, I ordered the Meefen. It's a noodle-based dish with so much sauce it's almost stew-like. I am not complaining because the sauce was delicious. It's unlike anything I've tasted before so I'm not sure how to describe it. Quite spicy, which I loved. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was the chunks of raw celery, but I'm just not a celery girl. I also tried the Jahunger noodles and the Lagan Noodle. Both delicious! Also, per their menu, everything can be made vegan. Our only disappointment was that they don't have their liquor license yet. But that won't stop us from coming back!

Tried this out for a delivery order. We got 2 noodle dishes, spicy eggplant in garlic sauce and scallion pancakes. Everything tasted really good. The noodles are nice and thick and chewy. I love that they are full of different veggies and meat and flavor. The jahunger noodles were a little too oniony for me with some raw red onion, but still tasted good. The scallion pancakes were really good. Good amount of scallions, crispy and still chewy too. I love the eggplant. They're spicy and soft with big pieces of peppers in it I thought the prices were relatively reasonable, esp for a delivery app. 4 dishes with delivery fees/tax/tip came out to a little less than $90. We had some spillage of the eggplant sauce in the bag, but that wasn't a big deal. I'd definitely order again!

Wonderful. Tried the lamb on dry land (cumin lamb with soft flatbread pieces) and Jahunger noodles (super thick noodles with spiced beef). Everything was very flavorful and uniquely spiced. Looking around at the other tables every other dish seemed super appetizing too. Fast service and a nice semi-casual ambiance, with some decorative touches that add a nice element for a date night. Will definitely add to our regular rotation.

Came here not expecting much but we were blown away by this meal. We got the chicken stew, jahunger noodle, and the honey cake. All of them were delicious and packed with flavor. The chicken stew was packed with chewy noodles in addition to big chunks of meat. We would definitely come back again for any one of these dishes. The restaurant fills up very quickly, so be sure to get there early if you don't want to wait.

I absolutely loved their first location in Providence, so I was thrilled to discover they had opened a second location in Cambridge--perfect timing as I was planning a Thanksgiving trip to Boston with my family! Hearing that their head chef is a James Beard Award semi-finalist made me even more excited to try this location. The restaurant is conveniently located near major universities like MIT and Harvard, and the large parking lot in the back made visiting super easy. We enjoyed the food so much that we either dined in or took out from the restaurant three days in a row, trying nearly everything on the menu. Some highlights included the Kavap, Samsa, Scallion Pancake, Handmade Lamb Dumplings, Jahunger Noodle, Polo, Original Meefen, Meefen, Spicy Tiger, Lamb on Dry Land, and Spicy Beef Tripe. For my kids, the Samsa, dumplings, scallion pancake, and Polo were big hits. These are some of the milder, non-spicy options, yet they were bursting with flavor--perfectly seasoned and satisfying for younger kids. As a huge fan of spicy noodles, I was delighted by the Jahunger Noodles and Meefen dishes--they were just as incredible as I remembered from Providence. We also tried their new dish, the Spicy Beef Tripe, and wow, it was a game-changer! The tripe was crispy and chewy at the same time, with a spicy, tingly flavor that was addictive and satisfying. It paired beautifully with both noodles and rice dishes. Truly a must-try! What sets Jahunger apart is how their food feels both familiar and refreshingly unique. While there are plenty of hand-pulled noodle places, none compare to Jahunger. Their noodles are irresistibly chewy and flavorful. I even ordered extra white rice just to enjoy their sauces on top--they're that good. I wish they would sell their sauces for at-home use because I'd be stocking up in a heartbeat! The Lamb on Dry Land and Spicy Tiger (eggplant) dishes also stood out. The lamb was perfectly tender and infused with bold spices, while the eggplant had a smoky, rich flavor with just the right amount of heat. Everything we tried showcased the same high quality and attention to detail we loved in Providence. Their second location proves they can deliver the same incredible flavors and consistency we've come to expect. We're super impressed and can't wait to visit again. Amazing job, Jahunger team--keep up the great work!.

First time trying Uyghur food and really happy I did! This restaurant gets super packed for dinner and we had to wait around 30 minutes before we were seated. We got a couple of the noodle dishes, lamb dumplings, eggplant, and a fish plate. Everything was flavored well - i personally loved the noodles. Would definitely recommend checking this restaurant out!

The food here is AMAZING. They don't take reservations and were quite busy on a Sunday evening. We ordered the lamb on dry land, which was delicious and very spicy. The chicken stew is a must order. The portion was huge and the stew's flavor had so much depth - not to mention the addictively chewy texture of the hand pulled noodles. We ended our meal with the not your typical honey cake, which was stellar. Street parking is a bit difficult to find but this restaurant is well worth it. This was one of our favorite dining experiences in Boston and we will definitely be back!

Great food, service and ambiance! The hand pulled noodles are delightful, and very unique. I have little exposure to Uyghur food, but this was great!
